One Little Spark- Discovery Bay

Description

I felt the need to upload this early. A section of the One Little Spark story that will be included later. I won't give any details as to what will happen there.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with this world, Discovery Bay is an unbuilt themed land designed to by Imagineer Tony Baxter. It was originally planned to be built right behind Big Thunder Mountain where the upcoming Star Wars Land is going to be in a year or so. Big Thunder Mountain was supposed to the gateway to enter this world. The reason why Discovery Bay was not built in Disneyland was because of the timing and the money. While the Imagineers were planning the scale model of this famous world within 1976, two more huge projects were being worked on for the theme park entertainment: EPCOT and Tokyo Disneyland. And by the time Disney Productions had finished those two projects, bigger and better opportunities came along such as Michael Jackson with his Captain EO film, Splash Mountain, and the licensing of Indiana Jones and Star Wars properties. However, the idea of Discovery Bay did not die so easily. Elements of this world have been planted into some of famous areas in the Disney Park Resort industry: Dreamfinder, Figment and the Dream Machine in the original Journey into Imagination and Disneyland Paris would have their very own section in the park called Discoveryland Since it was first announced to the public in the late 1970s, Disney fans have been going nuts wanting so badly to enter this amazing steampunk world.

This is not only just an inclusion to my story, but also a tribute to this very well-imagined piece of Disney Park imagery and its creator Tony Baxter, my most favorite Imagineer in the Disney Company.
